Only two things in life make me feel like the luckiest woman alive: my family and my endless love affair with capturing the human spirit.I’ve been making Austin my home for the last 16 years. I love this town and the people who make it so unique. I’m originally from Mexico City and have had the wonderful opportunity to combine both cultures. It has helped me find my own niche in the photography world.
My goal is to tell your story in the most honest and unobtrusive way. I stay behind the scenes capturing the real moments while making sure that all the details you took so much time to pick out are remembered as well.

How did you get into photographing weddings?
By accident… really. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Journalism. After a short stint (very short) following the newspaper path I decided it wasn’t for me. I packed up all my stuff and moved to London. I just wanted to travel and see the world. After some amazing adventures in Europe, Mexico and the US as a graphic designer/bartender/waitress I decided to take some photography classes. I had always loved photography and considered it my passion but not my career. From there everything just started spinning out of control and before I knew it I had a photography business. I’m very lucky! I love what I do and I can’t imagine going to an 8 to 5 job. Answering emails in my bathrobe is one of my favorite parts of this job.

Do you do this full time?
YES! I have no other full time job, unless you consider being a mom! I have 2 amazing children.

Do you have an assistant/second shooter?
I always bring a second shooter to all my weddings. I love having someone else there to give another perspective of the event. Especially during the reception, I always make sure that my second shooter takes plenty of time to photograph your guests. I think it’s an important part of your day.

What makes your work unique?
Everything! Ok… I think that I have a unique way at looking at weddings. Not only do I see it as an incredible honor to be given the task to document your memories, but I’m also a sucker for LOVE! It makes me giddy and sometimes it makes me cry. I love capturing the intimate moments that two people share. I believe that your wedding day is one of the few monumental moments of your life. My goal is to give you a work of art that you will cherish forever with a new and fresh perspective. Your wedding images should bring back wonderful memories. I want it to make you laugh and cry.

Do you shoot film or digital?
I shoot only digital and I can’t imagine shooting any other way. The truth is it has really changed the way I feel about photography and the way I shoot. I have an incredible amount of freedom now.

Do you shoot in color or bw?
Ahhhh… both! I shoot all digital and therefore all your images are in color and in bw. That way you can decide what you like better for each photo. I love it!

Do I get copies of my digital files?
YES! I’m a firm believer that the files belong to you and your family. They are family heirlooms. I can’t imagine not having my weddings photos around for my kids or future generations.

Tell me a little about your albums?
Every album is designed individually for each couple. Each wedding is different and therefore has its own feel and flow. I work closely with each couple to design an album that reflects their own personal style. I offer a variety of weddings albums in different papers such as metallic or luster some with leather covers or photo covers. It’s really up to each couple to decide what fits their style. I make recommendations based on the photos once we have discussed your album. We offer parent albums as well and photo sign-in books.

What kind of equipment do you use?
Canon… and yes I bring backup and have insurance.

How much is your retainer fee?
It’s about 1/3 of your package price.

Do you travel?
YES… Destinations weddings WELCOME! A travel fee will apply to all weddings outside the Austin area. Send me an email and I’ll get you a quote.
